History Jon Darren Graham Jay Paul Gear

Formed in September of this year, UNTAMED fuse together five of the finest Rock/Metal musicians from the Cambridgeshire & Northamptonshire counties. Jon Sampson on vocals, Colin James and Miles Goodman on guitars, Graham Michael on bass guitars and on drums Mick Shelford - soon to be replaced by Ken Dee and finally by Paul Skinner - have a profound music history, playing on, in and around the pub and club circuit for years prior to the metal roller coaster to which they are about to embark.

UNTAMED put their hard-hitting covers show on the road - one of their earliest gigs is supporting "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" (an awesome Sabs tribute band) in April. The reception by an ever increasing army of fans within the first few months is so great that the band decide the time is right to start creating their own songs and identity. The summer finds UNTAMED in the studio recording nine of their own compositions aided by the likes of Andy Hawkins at Five Mile High Studios in Peterborough, England (their home turf). Andy manages to capture and reproduce the band's live energy and raw power on the debut CD "Nature's Messiah". In September UNTAMED fill the support slot for "Dressed To Kill", the UK's No.1 Kiss tribute band, at "The Metropolis Lounge" in Peterborough.

"Nature's Messiah" is released in January and incidentally has airings on Star FM, Lite FM and Caroline radio stations. For the next two years Untamed continue to play endless shows promoting "Nature's Messiah" and generally building up a fan-base in the Cambs/Northants areas.

This is an eventful year for UNTAMED; in April the band shares the stage with the legendary "Tygers Of Pan Tang", "Dumpy's Rusty Nuts", "The Quireboys" and "Oliver/Dawson Saxon" at the "Celtic Warriors" 11th Birthday Bash, Godmanchester, UK. In July UNTAMED support "Dumpy" at "The Underworld" London and then "Oliver/Dawson Saxon" again in December at "Club XS" in Kettering, UK.

In February UNTAMED are asked, along with other local bands, to perform at Peterborough's "Rock-Relief" at the Broadway Theatre, for UNICEF's Tsunami Disaster Fund. August sees an unprecedented 2 hour interview with Jon Sampson and airing of "Nature's Messiah" in its entirety on KHFX RADIO in the USA.

In March UNTAMED join forces again with Andy Hawkins to record their second CD "Insanity Bound", this time at Pravda Studios in Leeds, England. Their maturing, dynamic song writing takes shape in these eight new power-riffed metal gems. Released in June, "Insanity Bound" is being received very well and, along with "Nature's Messiah", still rattles your neighbours' - and your own - windows!!

In January Miles leaves the band. This is something he feels he has to do, and UNTAMED wish him all the best for the future, in whatever venture he undertakes. The band are now faced with a choice and instead of waiting for a new guitarist, they decide to continue playing as a 4 piece. In April of the same year they announce new guitarist, Darren Macer, who is only 18 but hugely talented for the number of years he has been playing. At his first gig Darren plays an absolute blinder and revitalizes the band's "full" sound once more!

UNTAMED sign with TRANSCEND RECORDS, a label within the TRANSCEND MUSIC GROUP. Re-released at the beginning of the year, "Insanity Bound" receives positive reviews on numerous magazines and web-zines. In December UNTAMED support Cory Clark's "Warrior Soul" at Sawyer's Venue, Kettering, UK. For the months to follow the band is on the road playing rallies, local festivals and dozens of gigs sometimes spanning a legendary 3.5 hours non-stop!

At the end of the year Colin leaves the band taking with him some very treasured musical memories. Having shared the stage with Colin through good and bad times for over 10 years, UNTAMED wish him all the best for the future.

The year begins with Jay Wilson joining the band on guitars. Having rehearsed together for several weeks, Jay and the guys are looking forward to seeing you on the road, so everyone come down to show your support!
